What is PCR Nucleic Acid Testing?

Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing, also known as Nucleic Acid Testing, is the most reliable and accurate test available for the detection of New Crown Pneumonia.

According to data from the company's latest development studies, the test analyzes results with an accuracy rate of between 98.7% and 99.5%, depending largely on whether the infected person is symptomatic and how long ago the virus was contracted at work.

PCR testing is usually performed at specific clinics,Rapid antigen nasal swab but qualified health care workers can also obtain genetic samples at the subject's home, hospital or drive-in theater, or away from home. The sample is then sent to a laboratory for analysis and results are available within 24-48 hours.

How does PCR nucleic acid testing work?

Both antigen testing and PCR testing are effective, but they work on different principles. The examiner collects a sample for PCR testing from the nasopharynx containing the patient and viral genes.

The sample is then brought to the laboratory, separated and inserted into an RT-PCR instrument for 30-40 heating and cooling cycles. This process, also known as a polymerase chain reaction, produces millions of copies of viral DNA fragments, making it easier to identify the presence of novel coronavirus viruses. Special software allows lab technicians to read and analyze the results.

When do we need students to perform PCR testing?

Because PCR tests require the use of specific machines and laboratories, they are more expensive than antigen tests and take several days (at peak times) to get results.

However, if you are experiencing symptoms associated with a C. neoformans infection such as persistent cough, runny nose, nasal congestion, malaise, headache, sore throat, etc.; are asymptomatic but believe you have been exposed to C. neoformans; are required to travel out of the country as part of the state's entry requirements and show a negative polymerase chain reaction test result.

What is a rapid antigen test?

While PCR is considered the gold standard for detecting coronavirus, rapid antigen testing (RAT) has its advantages. First, RAT can deliver results in 15-30 minutes at a lower cost.

In addition, RAT can be performed by a testing technician in a clinic, but it can also be performed at home on your own without the need for other NHS staff to be able to help.

To understand the unique developmental advantages of the RAT, it's first important to carry out an understanding of the business All Covid-19 test students tell us directly if the tester can be infected with the active SARS-CoV-2 virus at the time of the test. That is, by the fact that the tester may be infected immediately after a test does not affect the protection offered against the virus.

Therefore, although PCR test results are very accurate, rapid antigen testing (RAT) allows for more frequent testing and therefore plays a vital role in helping to control the spread of the virus.

However, RAT is not as accurate as PCR, with an accuracy of around 72%-58% (depending on the presence or absence of symptoms) in detecting the presence of novel coronaviruses.

How does rapid antigen testing work?

Rapid antigen testing works on a different principle compared to polymerase chain reaction testing, in that the genetic samples collected are not amplified, but rather a respiratory sample is collected directly using a rapid antigen test stick.

Then the sample is carried out to insert a rapid antigen system test main reagent, and then drop the solution into the antigen can be detected on the sample hole of the laboratory reagent company to test the data sample of the SARS-CoV-2 virus protein. As the sample spreads out on the test paper, the antibodies look for the relevant antigen in the corporate sample. If the antigen is detected, they cause the test stick to develop the appearance of two lines at both the C and T position information.

Since the sample has not been amplified by PCR, there needs to be enough viral antigen in the sample for the antibodies to react. Therefore, if the infection is early or asymptomatic, the test may not detect the infection.

When do I need a rapid antigen test?

If symptoms are similar to those caused by a 2019 coronavirus disease infection, a rapid antigen test should be performed to check for a positive result. Rapid antigen tests can be used frequently, such as before work, events, or home visits, and results are received within 15-30 minutes. Although rapid antigen testing is not the most accurate test, it is still effective in reducing the chances of infection.
